@aral @markhughes thanks for the article, Aral. Seems there is a deeper problem inside the EBU, and I can understand the boycott. I agree that a good solution would be to exclude countries in active conflict, although this would also impact Ukraine. The EBU seem to be trying to ignore or underplay the issue which is problematic.
It’s a real dilemma for me, as I don’t want to “let the terrorists win” by allowing the actions of a single nation, and the inaction of the EBU to take away what I see as an uplifting symbol of unity and joy.
What I don’t think is effective, is the vitriol and bullying directed at me and others just for trying to enjoy what is otherwise an uplifting escape from the darkness of the world for a few hours. It only deepens the divide.
