    @GrapheneOS @Framasoft @fla OK, I found the English transcript.

    They’re right that security and privacy are not the same thing but where it misses the point is that you cannot have privacy without security. Security is a prerequisite for privacy.

    And yes, the claim that GrapheneOS isn’t about privacy is just plain wrong.

    They have issued one correction on the article, so clearly there’s a desire to be constructive. And I’m sure they will issue another regarding the privacy claims.

    > Remember the distinction. If an app has access to your contacts or things like that that include trackers, GrapheneOS isn’t going to try to prevent that, it’s going to let the app run normally. [Correction by Walid and Antoine: The original version of the text used the wrong example of contacts. GrapheneOS actually has a mechanism for isolating contacts between applications, called “Contacts scopes”. Thanks to the GrapheneOS project for pointing this out to us. I think the issue might be more that the person being interviewed uses e OS and Framasoft have spoken to the Murena folks but maybe not spoken with you? So their information is from those sources. Maybe they could also do an interview with you as well?

    Because, yes, systems with compromised security models are not better for your privacy, they provide you with the illusion of privacy that will shatter with the first security breach. It’s like putting shades on your windows but leaving the door unlocked.
