Potentially there since January 11, but that's only from squinting hard at the Planet satellite photo for changes. Tough to say for sure. Typically, a rescue of someone there and a thrashed BMW like that would make their news page; no such mention. The car-shaped shadow there does not show in the Jan 10th image. I'd think the NPS would have put a press release out showing that (typically) telling people not to do stupid things like that... but perhaps they are understaffed.
