    9front supports a fair bit more than that FWIW. You can run it on modern multi-core systems just fine, I think a bottleneck if we're talking peak performance might be that the system in general isn't aggressively optimized for speciality hardware, but if you dumped money into a custom kernel and upgrading the compiler I think you could close that gap.
