This is the problem and why I would probably have Windows 11 as my standard go to regardless because I'm so sick of open source devs breaking shit. When I tried installing Linux on my old PC multiple times and with multiple distros it wouldn't install correctly and constantly freeze on me or cause problems.

Got enough issues in my life without having to make things worse through Linux. Contrary to how often Linux users insist on lying to me the functionality isn't there yet.

It needs to be as simple as Blender and Krita to get everything running. As much as I make fun of the Linux community for being elitists it really isn't helpful how hard a lot of them shamelessly deflect criticism and get hostile when people point out the flaws with their precious distro.

I do respect the fact that they've taken into account people use the epic games launcher for the free games and made that work though, that's progress.

Edit: Also, regarding Bitlocker, this is exactly why I have an external hard drive backup with all my necessary files on it. I can then pretty comfortably wipe the OS if there are any problems which it seems a lot of people don't do LOL.
