They use opaque ordering algorithm, threading is just cosmetic and only goes one level deep, posts are filtered for arbitrary reasons. The reason they exist is companies want engagement and feeling like you’re part of the conversation attracts everyone. but they don’t want it to be possible to actually discuss anything because that is a liability. The comments are engagement flypaper and nothing more so they just give you a place to shit out a reply and then it effectively vanishes into a swamp
