Joe@hosford42 We may only know the answer in retrospect. Now, they are political camps. People are not being sent there specifically to kill them, as far as anyone can tell. Also, the ones run in the US are by for-profit entities, so they have a strong incentive to keep people alive. They are doing that as cheaply as possible, thus this happens. Neither one is acceptable to me and the vast majority of Americans. However, a substantial minority of Americans elected these evil people. @AnnaAnthro
