Maybe he's still high from the Time Magazine shvt. I don't see how full text search is a social dynamic problem. It's a technical one. Elasticsearch can eat hardware for breakfast and be costly to run. Multiply that by n(x) instances one federates with and the hardware required ramps up faster.
