> How do you act outdoors if you act civilised indoors?
At my age, "acting civilized" has more to do with which smells and jokes I am supposed to emit in mixed company. (My ex used to like to say that it was a mistake to let boys indoors, because we were only *acting* civilized. Speaking of "Last of the Summer Wine", she cracked up at the same bit that always made my grandmother nearly double over, where the gearhead comes in and his wife wordlessly drops squares of newspaper on the floor in his path to keep him from making direct contact with the floor.)
I learned as a child to act civilized indoors; I had an uncle with a video camera and one afternoon he showed some old tapes so I got to observe. It looks a lot like how I acted outdoors was I ran in circles yelling. (I couldn't tell from the video if I was chasing my brother or he was chasing me; a different uncle, who had all daughters, was excited to come see the boys and was trying to get us interested in a tee-ball set he had assembled, but we wouldn't slow down long enough to process what he was saying. He's in position holding out the handle of the bat and telling me to hit the ball and instead of stopping and taking the bat, I continued running in circles and just punched the ball when the orbit swung close enough.)
