I lived in El Monte for a while with my ex, and El Monte is kind of a rough area. I told her I liked it more, you know, I go to San Marino or whatever and it's all rude-ass soccer moms but ghetto zones, you nod, the other guy nods, nobody fucks with you. What I was missing was that I am a large dude with a mean face and she was tiny and a girl and even in a reasonably nice neighborhood, people will bother a girl that's out by herself.
