@brianvastag @wulfric I've looked at a couple of readers. The meow demo is really nice. It's an online reader in a drop-box style. It appears they don't store it. It's just a personal reader.
Archives could be theoretically served from anywhere, with a link added to our profile pages. People wouldn't be responding, but all of the old responses are present in the meow demo.
Honestly, with any streaming system, a lot of data is constantly generated, not a lot is ever deleted (unless you set it up to purge periodically), and the database incessantly grows. That brings with it potentially slower response times and more expense. As it nears its capacity, you have to buy more hardware, which fills up, so you have to buy more hardware. Archiving is not a bad thing with streaming.
At any rate, I urge you to download your archive now. You won't be able to save any posts if you don't. You are supposed to get a week after the server stops. Personally, I don't like waiting for unforeseen circumstances. At least, you will be able to view it for now. We might be able to come up with something more available to others (if it doesn't already exist).
