@jeffcliff @HarryNuggets @Hoss I think that when a COVID variant originates in China, we should be a little more alarmed than usual.

The US claims that it's a lab leak, and Chinese researchers claim to keep doing that type of research IIRC.

We should treat it as the bioweapon that it is, and when new variants arrive *in the fashion that they are* we should treat it as if it's another 2019-style bioweapon attack.
