     @Hyolobrika I still don't quite understand the question. My OP was supposed to express that anything that people do, they do to make the future better than the present, that is, to 'profit', be it monetary or not. By doing things as a 'non-profit' (that is, without money), you're just removing on of the possible 'rewards', but you still have all the others.

     @lain I meant what do you notice about non-profits vs for-profits as opposed to what you expect to see based on your analysis of / views on human nature?

     At least, I think that's what I meant. I'm not sure since it was 4 days ago.

     I guess what I was asking was: was your original post based on evidence or theory?
