Adam Dalliance (pre@boing.world)'s status on Thursday, 22-Dec-2022 08:30:15 JST Adam Dalliance @lain exactly. Family is bullshit unless you can sell the children.
No point in a personal garden. Must all be farms for profit.

Adam Dalliance (pre@boing.world)'s status on Thursday, 22-Dec-2022 08:46:36 JST Adam Dalliance @lain family man. Where's the profit in it. A good Ferengi would only accept family relations with a proper contract and expectation of profit.

Fish in the percolator (lain@lain.com)'s status on Tuesday, 27-Dec-2022 07:52:15 JST Fish in the percolator @Hyolobrika I still don't quite understand the question. My OP was supposed to express that anything that people do, they do to make the future better than the present, that is, to 'profit', be it monetary or not. By doing things as a 'non-profit' (that is, without money), you're just removing on of the possible 'rewards', but you still have all the others. In conversation permalink -

hyolobrika@berserker.town's status on Tuesday, 27-Dec-2022 07:52:16 JST Hyolobrika @lain I meant what do you notice about non-profits vs for-profits as opposed to what you expect to see based on your analysis of / views on human nature?
At least, I think that's what I meant. I'm not sure since it was 4 days ago.
I guess what I was asking was: was your original post based on evidence or theory?
