@avalos @alcinnz - Yeah, I just shorten "Linux-based" to Linux in every day usage. Colloquialisms are understood to imply the technically accurate (but cumbersome specificity) connotations.
@alcinnz “I use Linux as my operating system” is technically not correct, as Linux is not an operating system unto itself. GNU/Linux is not an operating system either, but rather a *kind* of operating system. “Linux-based system” would be more correct, although it's still a *kind* of system.
Linux-based systems have their names! Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, Alpine, Guix, Parabola, etc.
