What's the biggest fall from grace of a video game from first game to sequel? Infinity Blade? Halo? Way of the Samurai?

@kirjis Oof, I feel you. Invisible War wasn’t that bad but it clearly wasn’t in the same vein as Deus Ex. -

@psychicteeth It's a little bit outside of the original prompt, but the studio change, unknown to me at the time, from FlatOut 2/Ultimate Carnage (2006/2007) to FlatOut 3: Chaos and Destruction (2011) was one of my worst experience of a franchise gone wrong.
Thankfully BugBear Entertainment was able to bounce back from the IP loss and successfully crowdfunded Wreckfest (2018) which is much closer to the original games. -

@psychicteeth I mean, it makes total sense, I just wasn't familiar with the practice of publishers holding the franchise IP and hiring a whole different studio after a disagreement with the previous who shipped two successful games. -

@fabs *checks Playnite records* Yup, played the first S.P.A.Z for 75h, played the second for just 35h. -

@psychicteeth SPAZ. The original was so good. The sequel broke most of the ganeplay formula and the 3d was not really even needed.

35 hours! Wow. I don't think I put in more than 3. Also, I think I remember playing it a lot on Linux. Was it on Linux? Or am I imagining things?
