     @mcfly @tchambers @carlchenet Also because moving outside Europe involves losing a some privacy rights regarding your data.
     That's the main reason, I never offered the option to host outside Europe. Also, Mastodon handles higher latency pretty well, so that never pushed me to make that decision.
     Still, I had reports from people that don't use my service because of latency worries. So, it's something I'm considering. Although I don't thing they will see great benefits on day to day usage.

     @mcfly Yes, currently yes. Some external dependencies, like Bunny for CDN and MailGun for SMTP but mostly OVH: https://masto.host/infrastructure/

     Given the DMCA i am also not sure if i would want to host in the US. From what i guess punishments are a lot lower in europe.

     You mostly host at ovh?

     @DiogoConstantino Well, MailGun has a European data centers. Still, the only alternative that I've tested and is owned by an European company is Sendinblue.
