@HurricaneWeasel The main issue is that Fedilab is an app, so it has to deal with everything a device brings, like battery restrictions. But I could perfectly create a respectful service on my server that would allow boosting a message at a given time. Fedilab would use it, and everything should work smoothly. @deutrino
@apps my wish would be a comprehensive rework of scheduled posting & boosting to make it work like tumblr's queue, which allows mixing of posts and boosts, and combines scheduling for specific times with a "post/reblog every h:mm" feature.
this is a big ask and I have no idea how many people use the scheduling features now, but my rationale for this is that curators who queue posts make up a vital part of the tumblr ecosystem which I have wanted to replicate on fedi for nearly a decade.
@apps At this point Fedilab works so well for me, there is not much I'm really missing, more stuff that would be nice to have. :neocat_heart:
I think [1258](https://codeberg.org/tom79/Fedilab/issues/1258) (Add ability to preview drafts) would be a really good feature, since you'd be able to spot mistakes with markdown or emojis before posting. :neocat_thinking:
@apps That would be a good workaround. I made the website, so it can register as an app. I can share to it from Fedilab. The URL of the post is prefilled. I choose the slot and schedule it. The next free slot is used (it leaves the slots for my own post free). It only takes seconds. @deutrino
@apps I can't imagine that this would work. I glued it together, bit by bit, and fitted it to my needs. Everything is hard-coded (for example my token), and it runs on my little Lenovo laptop server behind the shoe rack. :soft_sweating: @deutrino
@calvin Extra features is an old option you have to enable manually. But it should be reworked to enable itself automatically, especially since it is possible to know what an instance supports through nodeinfo or an API endpoint. @HurricaneWeasel
oooohhhh woah I didn't even notice Extra Features! I tried to look for a setting when I first downloaded the app, but never saw it. Thanks for pointing this out.
(I suppose I retract my previous reply asking for a feature that already exists)
@apps Not a missing feature. But, I’m still experiencing time jumps in the home timeline. Sometimes posts are missing for several hours. I then have to close and restart Fedilab several times before the reload button appears.
