@thomasfuchs okay so your problem with markdown is actually just a symptom of your desire for a good WYSIWYG HTML editor? Because I can absolutely get behind the need for a good WYSIWYG HTML editor.

My main beef (sorry if this is too tangential) is how most people use document editors designed for printing out onto sheets of paper even when they have no intention of doing so. I would figure markdown or html is a good candidate assuming a good friendly UI.

@ChrisWere Perhaps due to the video's dimensions, the volume control in peertube doesn't appear unless I go into full screen mode. A little UI oddity.

@ChrisWere I selected spaces, but previously would select tabs. Maybe I'll switch back. I haven't been too thoughtful or intentional about it in the past, using whatever defaults were on whatever editors I've been using.

I think I selected spaces recently because that was (I think) the default on Spyder.

@chris @uoou regarding those posts promoting a technology without explaining what the technology is: Whenever I see those I just assume that it's part of some larger thread or community or it otherwise simply isn't for me and I ignore it entirely. Which is a real shame if it turns out to be something I would enjoy.

@firesidefedi @ChrisWere That "porn parody watch party" idea sounds hilarious. I do recall that a youtuber had done a similar thing where he "reviewed" porn parodies without showing the naughty bits. I think the channel was called cinema snob.

It is interesting how youtube became brand-safe cable television.

As in, there's already an emoji for email 📧 . I know I could use 🐘, but that is Mastodon-specific. Any clever ideas?
