@LukeAlmighty I imagine the question is a formality or automatic action. Just nod or affirm verbally.

@LukeAlmighty @pwm A problem easily solved by saying a single word.

I know this is a me problem, but at some point, I have to post my thoughts on it.

I am not non verbal. I am far from it. But there are some things, that just don't have to be verbal in the first place. For instance, imagine this:

A cashier is on a phone talking to her friend. I don't want to bother her, so I look at her signaling, that I don't want to bother. I do a thumb up etc. All to say, that the payment was good etc. I do not want her to ruin her discussion on the phone. YET STILL, she says "THANK YOU, COME AGAIN" at full volume. Why ignore all the work I've put into telling her it's ok to keep talking on the phone? It just makes the entire situation awkward.

Back when I worked in such a role, they told me if I didn't say the magic words a secret shopper could come in and get me fired.

I could imagine some people saying the thing regardless of the appropriateness.

And my point was just, that NTs seriously need to verbalize everything, and somehow don't feel the energy it takes to confirm pointless shit.
