   Did I mess up here? I'm not sure. I *SO FUCKING HATE* that all the slop out there has me second-guessing whether things that someone rapidly produced, maybe genuinely to be nice, are just slop just based on past comments they've made that seem roughly aligned with an AI inevitability narrative.

     Were they rightly mad that I suggested something they'd actually written might be slop? Or were they mad what I wouldn't appreciate that they "spent their time" on prompting a plagiarism bot? I have no idea.

     @lumi I probably feel more bad about it because just this morning I saw someone else's apparently heartfelt post/appeal not to accuse artists of using slop because of the damage if you're wrong, and instead just not to engage.

     if i made something for you and there is no clear proof that i didn't just prompt a slop machine, i think it is totally fair to bring it up
     
     in that case i will just say i didn't use it and state genai is never okay. i will not make a problem out of it, because i also hate slop

     if i was offended by that, i would be very clear that it's not slop, and say i hate slop. making that as clear as i possibly can

     @zip I'll believe that when I see it. Somehow the worst people always get unlimited second chances to scam everyone, and everyone else gets no second chances.
