As I approach 10 weeks living as a nomad, I have to confess there are days when I sincerely miss having a badass gaming PC and losing myself in a great RPG or shooter. Those days are rare, but they exist.

What games have you all been loving lately?

@sentientsponge I got about halfway through that before I left, and thoroughly enjoyed that hybrid hacking/shooter gameplay! I should find time to pick it up again. (I have a Legion Go with me, but that battery life is AWFUL)

@killyourfm My main game right now is Pragmata, but I'm playing on the Switch 2. Really fun combat thanks to the hacking gimmick that makes an otherwise pretty standard sci-fi game a lot more fun.

@killyourfm Dark Souls 3, after having finished Hollow Knight and Silksong and wanting more. Gonna do Sekiro and Elden Ring after too. Great games to sink countless hours into, really enjoying the rhythm/puzzle aspect of the combat!

@necrophcodr I have to almost shamefully admit that those games are just too challenging for me these days. Though I 100% appreciate how fantastic they are!

@broximar Wait wait wait... so this is a roguelike city builder meets, um, Arkanoid roguelike? Checking this out immediately.

@killyourfm Ball x Pit sucked me in recently. I didn’t give a proper go when it first released, but returned after they released the game’s final update last week. Games are 12-15 minute cycles with lots of characters to level, a base to build, and the satisfying roguelike playloop.

@killyourfm i think you'd probably be surprised. I am definitely not in my younger years anymore, and it shows when I do attempt to play counter strike online. strategy helps, but my reactions are down.

anyway, i think they're a fantastic teacher of the skill of patience, and a fun reinforcement learner of perseverance. most of the game is really just about finding the dance rhythms and learning it, but it takes time.

the reward of bettering myself is, in my opinion, worth it.

@killyourfm if they're not your taste if games, that's fine! everyone is different. but please, be kind and try not to put yourself down like that. the games are not too challenging for you, i am quite sure.

if they're not what you'd find any enjoyment from, then there's no good reason i can say to play them. but if you would find enjoyment, then please be good to yourself and don't hold yourself back for reasons that are simply not true!

      take care, and have fun!

@necrophcodr It IS the reaction times for me too! I find myself getting frustrated at Souls-like games (even though I tend to love most roguelikes). But I suppose it helps to remember that, just like in life, a failure makes it easier to see the RIGHT path next ttime :)

@killyourfm and just like learning to dance, you gotta practice and practice and practice until you hit the marks, and these games are in my opinion, exactly like that
