@Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta @NoDoxGregBrady @Sophia_Ru All of Ukraine is Russians, 80-90% Russians, 10-20% Poles. Doesn't mean they can't hate Russia (and Poland). I've met plenty of people (women) from Kharkiv (Russians), and they hate Russia. One has lost her grandparents to the war now works at an army hospital and donates her salary to the war. I told her more people dying won't bring her grandparents back, she blocked me. Absolute seething hatred against Russia, yet she speaks Russian, looks Russian, is Russian.
That is the reality there, a schizophrenic people who smelled the luxuries of the West and now hate Russia for "keeping them from it". They don't realize Westerners work hard for their money and not sit on the dole 24/7 and provoke Russia. But there's plenty of Russians too who hate Russia, they're called Liberals, Liberashkas. I don't even think people can move easily, unless they wanna pay rent, with how post-communism distributed the flats - people got the flat they lived in for cheap. So most are bound to return unless they emigrated, and I guarantee you, those territories will be Navalny voters for life.

@Dubbub @NoDoxGregBrady @Sophia_Ru The east of Ukraine is mostly Russians. The rest (the ukies non Russian) have moved out of the occupied Russian areas into Europe or west Ukraine. East Ukraine will only have Russians. The occupied territories already have a Russian id system. Without it you can't live there. So people just leave. So thats the system for all east Ukraine. The west of Ukraine is different. If Russia is forced to occupy western territories they will be uninhabited. No people there. They will be dead man zones or military bases/minefields. Everyone who isn't Russian goes west to remnant Ukraine. Half the Ukrainian population has left for Europe or is Russian and has embedded into Russia or will when the war ends. See? There will be no hostile voters. Only Russians. All ukies are already gone from where Russia is and will leave from wherever Russia goes next. One way or another.

@NoDoxGregBrady @Sophia_Ru No it won't be. All Ukraine from the river east will be Russia. Its halfway there. The rest half is easier. West Ukraine will be evacuated and turned either into a dead zone or if need be occupied too and turned into a minefield all the way up to the edges of it where a small rump state attached to poland/Hungary will remain. It won't need vast immigration. The few million ukies remaining will be enough. There won't be a brown Ukraine because there won't be a Ukraine.
That's the Russian plan.

@Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta @NoDoxGregBrady @Sophia_Ru I want to believe, the question is if Putin wants millions of hostile voters and whether he can even justify it since I doubt anything outside Novorossiya would join in a referendum. Annexing as much of Ukraine as possible is undoubtedly the right move - for the good of Ukrainians, but Putin is sadly a Liberal.
For me a settlement of "Russia takes 4 regions and the rest of Ukraine can go to hell" seems most likely.
