     Absolutely. I do wonder what could’ve happened if America had stayed neutral. Pearl Harbor was a mistake that didn’t need to happen, and it turned US ww2 support from like 4% to 80% overnight

     @UnityOstara @satsuki @BowsacNoodle @Homosoypiens Obviously I am not a military expert or anything but they were speedrunning this stuff too much, they needed to consolidate their power in Manchuria and then maybe they would have had enough troops to attack the soviets and the Indonesian oil. That way America would have had to commit a bigger effort to Europe. Not saying that just means they could have won but not consolidating was a big mistake. They even had feuds in the military over this thing but the take over china and everything below it faction won. Overextending and then losing everything has happened way too often in war, empires, history, etc.

     @BowsacNoodle @UnityOstara @satsuki @Homosoypiens Yeah, if they attacked Indonesia and it didn't trigger a war declaration from the US, they could have a much MUCH higher chance of winning. Like, they didn't even actually need to take over China for anything, just taking over Manchuria and east Russia was enough "expansion" for decades, more than enough land to send excess population if that is what they wanted (what most wars are about). It is baffling to me how supposedly smart people make the same historical mistake, mostly, probably, because of ego.
