Once women get any kind of influence or authority over the organization or community it all devolves into emotion and feelings and Bible study groups into women's emotional support groups. The husbands quietly tag along and sit silent while the women hold sway. The men's groups, if there are any now, become the same. I've seen this happen personally and they only get upset when I tell them, This is why the church (little c) is dying.
“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:6 The same applies to churches. A lot of dead branches need to be pruned and burned.
And yet despite this, my parents are still at a loss as to why I stopped attending Church for a long time, ultimately converting to Orthodox Christianity years ago.
"In 2003, the Rev. Gene Robinson garnered controversy when he became the first openly gay bishop in The Episcopal Church, becoming head of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire."
"Robinson’s election prompted large numbers of theologically conservative congregations to leave the theologically liberal denomination, which also led to years of litigation across the U.S. over who rightfully owned various church properties and assets."
"The conservative exodus contributed to what has been a years-long decline in membership for the mainline denomination. In 2006, The Episcopal Church had approximately 2.1 million members. By 2023, however, that number had dropped to approximately 1.54 million."
