     But it came up during our review on Thursday that a lot of people use place hashtags like #vermont or #stjohnsbury or #vt to mark a geographic topic. I think it requires a lot of work on the back end, though.

     It can also be really ambiguous. I was just looking at a post by @benpate that tagged a #buffalo in the city of #Boulder and I realized it could as easily be about a large boulder in the city of Buffalo.

     Regardless, I think hashtags are a nice combo of ease of use and clear intention to mark the content. They're not significantly harder or more ambiguous than Geoslash. So, I think I'll go with hashtags.

     @evan I use place-based hashtags all the time, and usually use #Vermont as that is where I am most of the time.

     Ironically… while you may be in St J, Vermont, I am across the border in Orford, Quebec! 🤣
