Steam is getting sued in the Netherlands for being a monopoly because "They use rules and regulations that benefits customers in a way that make them difficult to compete with"
*Gabe Newell continues to do nothing and somehow wins*

Gabe figured out the secret, if someone is going to pirate they are either not going to buy it anyway, or they can't buy it so it actually cuts in to the profit very little

@CobaltSasquatch @TeaTootler Gabe figured out the secret: most people would rather pay $2 on steep sale for a game and have steam manage the install than pirate it even amongst pirates

@CobaltSasquatch @TeaTootler like bro I own Morrowind on steam, and I made a solemn vow to never buy that game again after I wore out my third copy back in the day (I'm pretty sure I only have it due to family share though)

Thats why this is so bizarre, why sue someone for a monopoly on something you don't do. It'd be like Subway suing Jiffy Lube for having a monopoly on changing oil

Look at who is suing them. Gabe Newell is LITERALLY being sued by a ROTHSCHILD. The guy is a patent troll and is looking for any area possible to win. Can’t let go of the grudge. It’s insane.

Unlike with Trump, I trust the plan with Gaben. He just wins, its all he does. He wins and enjoys living on his gamer fuel yacht

GabeN campaigned on “give us your money and we will give you a product” and has a perfectly flawless record of just making things work in a pro consumer way and keeping expenses lean. It’s a marvel of a company TBH.

They did and steam won. The plan is likely to sue them in every place they can and just cost Gaben his deserved 3rd yacht

They literally sued for the same exact thing in the UK I thought?

@CobaltSasquatch @theorytoe @BowsacNoodle I asked Steam support if they could somehow help me get my old accounts back despite me having no proof of them being my accounts, they gave me all my accounts back from decades ago.
Not sure if they are genius or if they also give them away to hackers who pretend to be the owners of the accounts lol.

Steam is the most customer friendly company I've ever dealt with. I was assured by every company I ever worked for that if you were simply fair to customers the company lost money

Yeah original steam kind of sucked as a launcher too. I guess the difference is they listened to their consumers and simultaneously became an incredible marketplace and library and drm management tool.
