     It's the job of a pump or bolt action firearm to not break when vigorously manipulated, to among other things avoid the disaster of short stroking. You don't want to build the wrong type of muscle memory if you move to a variety with a longer stroke, especially bad when using a magnum cartridge on dangerous game.
