     @coolbean @kirby Kate is now proprietary software, so I wouldn't use it.
     
     Emacs is a much better idea.

     i am using kate now because that comes with a vi mode, all i want is a good ide with vi mode that doesn't rely on web technologies

     @Suiseiseki @kirby does evil mode even have ex commands or do i have to rely on the emacs implementations for those features? in the latter case this isnt a joke
