Today's kids are psychopathic and it's partly the parents. Out of the 10 kids on my block, 6 will intentionally break others stuff and otherwise try to physically harm them. They lack any concept of the "other". The parents don't care either. One parent is basically like... yeah he breaks he own stuff too and when he does we just replace it.
When I was a kid, if I did the same stuff, my dad would have beat my ass. If I broke my own shit, there would have been no replacement.

Imo psychopathy is extremely under diagnosed and a significant portion of society has it, especially women. I imagine the vast majority of woodstock attendees were psychopaths.

Oldest is my only vaxxed kid. Got sick as a dog at 19 mo... GI, but last 12-14+ days. They wouldn't or didn't test him, but said maybe rotovirus.
"You mean that thing he got 2-3 shots for last year?"

"In a YEAR??" Smdh... he also got horribly sick 10 days after MMR. Quite much like the fever (105-6) & respiratory stuff from measles - near pneumonia - but no rash. Always just coincidence 🤨

Sometimes there's a good guy... pediatrician out of Portland, I think, kinda infamously ran a mostly-unvaccinated practice for over a decade & published his numbers (i.e. almost no autism). He got sandbagged by peers, of course, but he defended parents researching online...

Actually, the penal system was originally set up as a retraining camp to aid the industrial revolution. It was supposed to train people to perform jobs the powers that be thought were important. So you're right in a way, but the labor was really training for further labor after release.
It was only once we started locking up niggers after the end of slavery that the purpose changed. It's more a permanent penalty box now, because they can't be trained to behave.

There is a reason that in the middle ages prisons did not exist, outside of holding other countries nobles for ransom. You only hold people that you expect to turn a profit on.
The idea that "spending money on criminals to reform them" actually creates a net-positive for society is nonsensical. At best you can call it a money sink, at worst it's breeding more criminality.

If you've done something bad enough to be sent to prison for a good chunk of your life you should just be killed. And if it's something minor prison does you no good by being locked up with hardened criminals; that's what floggings, etc. are for. Prisons are a breeding ground of criminality.
