@aral on a somewhat related note LinkedIn wants me to upload my ID to be able to close my account because I do not agree with uploading my ID to continue to use it… and you need an unblocked account to contact the DPO to exercise your rights which implies… uploading the ID. Kind of a catch-22

I honestly don't care about digital ID. If you are a normal computer user, you just create two of them:
One where you use your normie things, pretty irrelevant.
Another where you're a Nigerian Prince shit posting for days.
Or even a VPN redirected to Russia or China, where they couldn't care less about what you post in globohomo sites.

Since I read the info on the verification process, supposedly fully on device, and user name options (real or something else) for now I tend to give it the benefit of doubt. It might even reduce malicious fake accounts.

@aral @lain As a privacy-minded person, I only give my face to trusted and legal EU-based face collectors, not to the evil wicked illegal untrusted US- or China-based face collectors.
The EU has laws, unlike the US or China, which means faces may only collected for good purposes, not for evil ones.
