@scenesbycolleen @adequate @yockeypuck a company called Unicomp makes new Model M's and they're pretty good, I'm told it's completely the same tech, they bought it or something.
I attached a picture of my Keychron Q6, which is aluminum with blue switches and heavy as fuck and feels quite comfortable.

My laptop keyboard has lost basically its entire top row so I've started bringing around a mechanical Bluetooth keyboard made of solid aluminum. Perhaps you be autistic like me.

NO NO NO NO NO
My brand of "autism" absolutely cannot deal with those trackballs, they drive me absolutely insane. :pepereeeee: Those mice are also too large for my smol hands. You can keep them but none of that nonsense for me thank you 🍻
Best mouse for me has numbered buttons on the side for gaming quickbuttons (even though I haven't used them for a game in a while, it's still nice to have just in case (and every time I return to one of those games OOPSIE that was the grenade button tehe :blobcatblush2:)).

Otoh, the best "mouse" ever made was this one:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :wojak_pink_laugh:
I think that might actually be it, but it also had a stupid plastic cover on it that made it even worse to hit any button :0171:
AND THOSE STUPID MICE
WHO MADE THOSE

Those aren't the worse mice they ever made, this is.
They wanted a clean aesthetic with no lines around the buttons, so the entire thing is a touch sensitive button which you constantly click by accident because any pressure anywhere on the front of the mouse activates it.
How does it know which button you want? It's touch sensitive. So you have to only have the correct finger on whichever button you want to use. The other one just has to kinda hover painfully. Whenever you *don't* want to click anything you have to shuffle it around with the heel of your palm.
That dot in the middle is the scrollwheel/trackball. It has almost no resistance so a strong breeze sets it off. You end up constantly activating it by accident, just like the buttons.
I used that mouse for around a week before I started bringing my own to class. It's practically designed for wrist strain/fatigue.

One of my keyboards has that same sort of feel except the actual keycaps are a bit too light. The rest are just gamer trash; better than non-mechanical keyboards but not as good as the real thing.

I'm trying and failing to find a picture of the worst keyboard I ever had to use, it was some horrible mac thing with keys that were squishy and weirdly placed and you had to very deliberately press every single key, no feedback at all, maybe it also had some squishy plastic covering on it that was of course disgusting because it was in a college chemistry lab but also made it even tougher to use it AND I HAD TO DO SOME DATA ENTRY WITH IT :blobcatree:
And just to top it off, it had no numpad :blobcatglare:
