    The equator-raised part of my brain freaks out whenever I see anyone store food outside a fridge. I know it won’t go bad in half an hour (and ice cream won’t melt in 2 seconds) elsewhere but it still feels so.. strange

      @meganL it’s more like 2 hours for safety reasons but I start to feel weird about it very quickly because most foods become visibly changed and degraded very quickly so it’s like a quality thing

      @skinnylatte Yikes, just a half hour for things that aren't eggs or meat?

      @anna do you see vivid images in your brain? I don’t (I have no images) so people talking about imagery really fascinate me

      @skinnylatte Can relate.

      I saw your post about hot sauce, specifying "pantry" instead of "fridge", as soon as you posted it, and I'm still trying to recover from the "pantry"-induced stress.

      Like... the accuracy with which my brain can instantaneously conjure up the feeling of ants biting at my ankles is quite something.

      @quixoticgeek @anna yeah I have zero images. I also have no inner monologue. :)

      @skinnylatte @anna as someone whose brain images are incredibly vivid, I'm confused in the opposite direction to you on this one.

      @quixoticgeek @anna the best way I can describe how I perceive ideas and the world is ‘there’s a rough jumble of a long essay’ in my brain.

      Like I don’t have a stream of consciousness direct writing voice because I would have to stop to try to think in active voice.

      I don’t personally need trigger warnings because I can choose to think about specific ideas when I read them (no images form in my brain at all even if I try). This makes grief interesting (I don’t often things about the past. I have no ability to behold an image of myself, my spouse, my pets, my parents, in my mind)

      @skinnylatte @anna I... Uh... This blows my mind. I've always assumed everyone has one.

      @arratoon @quixoticgeek @anna no images at all. Dreams are auditory or touch or smell (I can perceive / feel being in a crowded place like a bar in a dream. I can’t see any of it)

      @arratoon @quixoticgeek @anna yea I used to think all western meditation teachers were being hyperbolic and spending unnecessary time thinking about being on a beach and imagining the waves

      I switched to auditory type meditation and it’s been much better

      @skinnylatte @quixoticgeek @anna Oh, that’s interesting. I’m the opposite, and have the most vivid dreams. Shall we apply for grants and do research? Imagine, being paid to sleep! Bliss!
