One reason why Tesla has actual billions of dollars of lawsuits in their future.

    Quite the thread.

@darkpaw @kevinrns @TonyJWells when you open the door the glass has to slide down to avoid hitting the frame.

A friend of mine has a Tesla (I know, I’m working on him) so seen this. It’s such a stupid design. Along with the fact he had to use the central console to do just about everything (want to engage reverse? That’s the console).

Just had a look for what the manuals say for my Hyundai. The manuals are about how you lock the car when the power fails, not unlock.

@kevinrns @TonyJWells This is probably Elon's meddling, like he meddled with the exterior handles.

I can't understand why you need power to open a door? Why doesn't the interior door latch work regardless of whether you have power? It should just open the door.

The fact there's a manual procedure to follow in an accident, and it *isn't* just opening the door as you normally would, is why I never use Tesla Ubers, and would never buy such a dumb car.

      Excellent article: https://electrek.co/2026/04/16/tesla-facing-up-to-14-billion-lawsuits-deep-dive/
