Siskind still has tenure at Purdue, and there's a substantial Computer Vision group there; most of the group is led by Charles Bouman (the father of the now-famous Katie Bouman, who is responsible for taking pictures of black holes). If you interacted with students who came from there before the Epstein files dropped, they would openly say that Siskind was around the lab, and he collaborated with Bouman quite a bit.
It is reasonable to assert that Epstein and his assets had control over the Computer Vision lab at Purdue, and determined which students could and could not graduate. This alone is not particularly surprising - although it paints a significant picture of a very shitty academia, it is not overtly dangerous in and of itself, and there's probably hundreds of examples of this.
What *is* dangerous is that a very large number of the people who graduated from this program now work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which is very famous for "having the nuke shit." Epstein had at least some degree of control over what scientists got access to nuclear facilities in the US, and *that* is a very dangerous thing.
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating just to play devil's advocate a bit and I dont have a source on hand so take it with a chunk of salt: he was supposedly a kind of a "patron" of the sciences. I remember seeing celestron (a telescope company) in the files because he was supposedly building a telescope shed and there were communications with other astronomy related academics too (I might be misremembering this latter bit). I wonder if something similar is at play here?
Thats about as much as I can steelman it, and given his connections and fixer-i-ness, he probably was trying to make inroads with important academics for more nefarious reasons...
@karna It's a physical package of some sort. You don't send physical packages to people who you haven't *already* made substantial contact with. This was in 2002, Ted Kaczynski was still fresh in people's minds and people would've thought it was a fucking pipe bomb.
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@karna Far be it from me to carry water for Epstein, but it’s not like the ONLY THING he did was traffic children. Anyone on his frequent contact list owes the world an explanation. There’s a good chance some are not pedophiles. Powerbrokers do things for people, including connections with funding, and some of it is “legitimate”. I know nothing of the guy in question though, and this is like a week old so who knows what’s came out.
@madcuzbad@karna@ceo_of_monoeye_dating There are people who wanted funding for research who reached out to him and probably dozens of other “fund managers“ soliciting grants. I’m quite sure they have receipts if they’re innocent.
i understand what you're saying, but i'm unwilling to give even an inch of consideration to it because the regime and it's cronies and people like this have never done anything worth giving them the benefit of the doubt.
@PodunkPotato@madcuzbad@karna@ceo_of_monoeye_dating We saw he was banned from Xbox Live and an avid Fortnite player. Do we need to subpoena his friends list and hit them with firing squads? Thats what you guys are effectively saying
@BowsacNoodle@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@karna Since the government will never do an honest investigation of this network, we can't know until /ourguys/ get in power and do one. Of the people in his network, probably about half had no real dealings with his shady activities, but since we can't know one way or the other we should default to they're all guilty.
