@alex there's a bot on weider.earth that was documenting connections between users to create 'relationship clouds' which can be used by third parties to dox large grouping of people, its the same shit people deployed on twitter to try to take down "right wing" spheres on twitter. i cant remember the page but it's seaerchable, you can search anyone on fediverse and see who they most closely interact with etc
@alex It's one thing to philosophically disagree with transgenderism for x/y/z reasons - it's a whole other thing, and unprofessional, to direct malice and hate at individuals simply for being trans.
@alex You know, the transphobia is a tad off putting and does make it difficult to recommend Soapbox to people, even though I do appreciate the work you've put into it.
@issdeinschnitzel@taoeffect Exactly. Everyone is a transphobe. Even half of all trannies are transphobes! If you don’t believe it, look up “truscum”. There are entire subreddits dedicated to it. Those people tend to be my allies.
@issdeinschnitzel@taoeffect For years I strongly denied being a transphobe - “disagreement is not hate” “I don’t hate anyone” etc. And you know what they told me? “Yes you do”. So I stopped trying to convince people anymore, even though my views haven’t changed.
I think very few transphobes hate trans people for being trans. I think you misunderstand the term "transphobe". I means "philosophically disagreeing with the trans doctrine on any issue ever, even when the trans doctrine is internally inconsistent".
@NEETzsche@issdeinschnitzel@taoeffect I understand this is what happens with Nazis too. Regular conservatives get told they’re Nazis constantly online. They deny it, but the insults keep coming. Eventually they say “you know what, fuck you” and start flying a Windmill of Friendship flag, because they have nothing left to lose by that point anyway.
I've been called a Nazi for the last several years. No amount of appealing to commies/pedophiles will placate them, so I just learned to accept it. I really don't think there's one political ideology that would solve all of our problems but I'm going to get called a Nazi so might as well own it.
Right, “trans” people are just victims of radical ideologues pushing an agenda that normalises a disease condition. It’s that simple, and the “hate” is an extension of their insistence that others must be forced to suffer their delusions.
@alex@issdeinschnitzel@taoeffect My views on it have changed a bit over the course of time. I used to be for it, but considering the push to have kids transition before the age of 18 made me put that support on pause.
If you're an adult, go for it, but to have this kind of stuff pushed on kids is what gets me and it confused me as to why they're doing it.
@alex Well, in all seriousness, I'm in a spot politically where I piss basically everybody off by being candid. Liberals, conservatives, libertarians, communists, Nazis, name it.
For example, I'll engage in pro-white racial politics but I don't obsess over it. Everybody except Nazis hate me for doing so. Nazis hate me for not doing so to the exclusion of pretty much everything else. When I try to explain that it is appropriate to engage in racial politics in favor of oneself when dealing with organized racial animus toward one, I get "just as bad as they are" nonsense that amounts to a demand for pacifism. When I try to explain to Nazis that it doesn't matter that Mike Pondsmith is black because Cyberpunk 2020 is cool, they give me a "boardgames with brown people" lecture and call me a cuckservative or something.
That's just the question of race, too. The act of not caring about bullshit activates ideologues something fierce.
