@Sharksonaplane @pixouls my theory is that there were already pre-existing yemeni communities in many areas and there were new immigrants from family visas and new war stuff, many have links to coffee farms in yemen (long history), saw that arabic coffee spots were doing well in michigan and new york, and decided to expand that model (actually read a story about how some yemeni cafe owners went to detroit cafes to apprentice)
also yemeni food is very unknown here and difficult to promote compared to coffee, which is a shame coz it's my fave food from that area
