    If they're keeping people despite them being useless / harmful to productivity, it means the subsidy is too big.

    It should be just big enough that a hard working disabled person can make equal value to a hard working able bodied person.

      @cjd

      I do not like working with disabled employees who are allowed to behave badly without being fired because they are disabled

      Some of them harm the corporation so greatly that the corporation would be better off hiring them to get paid not to show up & not to work remotely

      They also harm customer service

      More over it would be likely welfare with extra steps because tax payers still pay for them to work at the corporation but they make things worse for everyone & corporations get welfare

      Should congress pass a law that obese people can no longer get disability payment for obesity unless they attend a government approved obesity treatment program which may include letting the program come to them?

      I actually think disability should be scrapped entirely and in it's place should be a subsidy for businesses who hire disabled people.

      The problem with programs such as disability is that what starts out as a noble cause to help those in true need, slowly evolves into a gibs program for lazy hypochondriacs.

      At first, nobody is shameless enough to claim money that is set aside for cripples. But as time goes on, first a few and then more and more people discover that they can enroll and get the free money. Eventually there are more scammers than truly disabled people.

      To illustrate the point, disability rates differ between countries by more than an order of magnitude. This is too much to explain by environmental or genetic factors alone, it can only make sense in the context of enormous levels of grift.

      There's no need for a judge's involvement. Government help is not a constitutional right, so it can be conditioned on anything that is considered to be in the public interest.

      Should judges be allowed to court order people who get disability payment due to obesity to go to fat camps or some other sort of treatment program in order to continue to get disability payments?
