    I am on the hunt for a new monitor that needs to fit these criteria:
    - 4K
    - more than 60hz
    - NOT OLED
    - preferably gsync or freesync
    - NOT OLED
    - 34 inch at least
    - NOT OLED
    - not ultrawide

    does anybody know of a good model like this

      I use an LG Ultragear 4k on my main box, but it's 32 inch. I think you're right about their larger ones being OLED only now.

      I've got a Dell U4320Q that's 43 inch, but I think it's just 60Hz.

      @RustyCrab @FatesApologist Idk how people say OLED isn't bad these days and that burn in is rare. I could've gotten the laptop I have but 1" smaller and with an OLED screen. I sometimes regretted not going for it but I think I had the right call.

      @Turdicus yes. Every OLED monitor I looked at on store display had horrible visible burn in. Logos and UI buttons permanently staining the screen. How do people tolerate this shit

      I took a look at microcenter for monitors like these but all of them were OLED and they all had terrible burn-in after only a few months of being on display

      @RustyCrab @Turdicus kinda unfair since the OLEDs there do stay on static content or have static elements, but OSs are the same and having to jump through hoops to not have that feels annoying.

      @RustyCrab @Turdicus do you think miniled would fare better than oled. Though at this point I only buy LCD IPS monitors. I can't stand oled because the burn in would drive me up a wall.
      Whoever marketed oled is a genius because everyone fell for it hook line and sinker when it's planned obsolescence the panel.

      @phnt @john_darksoul 4K is great inmo you just need an enormous screen for it. Apparently it's popular in tiny laptop screens through and they just depend on DPI scaling to not murder your eyeballs. None of it makes sense to me

I want a laptop with 4K+ (that would be 3840x2400 @ 16:10 16") because I can use 100% scaling on my 1920x1200 laptop fine, but 4K like that would allow me to have the same "real" space with double the pixels for everything. Kino to me. If I had an external display, I'd want it to be 4K too, but probs wouldn't use scaling. Who Knows.

      I need to look at what my laptop monitor has. It has no signs of burn in but has very good blacks so it can't be IPS

      @RustyCrab @john_darksoul It's also a battery hog on laptops, because the difference in driving a 1080/2K screen and a 4K screen in power consumption is a surprise to nobody except manufacturers. It's not like you can easily see pixels on a 1080 13 inch screen. Or even 16 inch.
