Apparently one of the things driving the whole bathroom with no tub "trend" are tall people who do not fit in them so the tall people just get rid of the tub and have only a shower.
Excuse you I was swimming in there.
Tall people must be stopped.

@futurebird my husband can see the top of the fridge. Without a chair, without a step stool, without hopping on tippy toes.. it’s just weird!

Tall people have already ruined kitchens by putting everything up too high and then you forget it even exists.

@futurebird I’m a person who will eat ALL the Oreos if they’re on the counter. And graze on bags of chocolate chips.
I have instructed my spouse that if such things enter the house, they must be stored in the cabinet that I’m too lazy to reach.
We have pull-down shelves in the cabinet where actually useful things are up high. They cost a few hundred dollars, but they’re worth it.

@futurebird Tall person Julia Child tried to start a trend of kitchen cabinets being on legs so you could adjust them. Sadly, she did not succeed so many kitchens have counters that make tall people’s backs hurt while also being too high for others. The tyranny of the middle of the bell curve must be stopped!

@futurebird I have a step stool in the kitchen and still I struggle to see what’s on top shelves. My kitchen has been designed for giants… And I’m 5"7 !

@_elena @futurebird I'm 6'0" and I use what is, ostensibly at least, my wife's step stool all the time.
The truth is that our kitchen, at 70 square feet, is too small NOT to use all the vertical space. And that means step stools are for everybody.
