@vixalientoots @whynothugo @navi Usually would be true, that said udev is optional on Alpine (subject of blogpost) among other systems even with a desktop environment thanks to libudev-zero, and Hugo mentioned mdev upthread. -

@vixalientoots @navi @lanodan but we’ve just established that you don’t really need a daemon for this. I’m pretty sure that upower won’t work in my host due to dependency on other absent services.

@whynothugo @navi @lanodan I think upower doesn’t depend on much, and you don’t start it like a normal daemon I think, it used udev, and there’s a high chance you have it installed already if you use a mainstream desktop environment
