@JoshuaSlocum @EdBoatConnoisseur what's funny is that we have people saying on twitter that "its a lie that if you tax billionares heavily they will leave" - and it's when I saw that, that I realized "oh shit, this kind of nonsense is what the Laffer curve is really about" - like it's silly to try and optimize what is or is not the max of a curve like that ( and it's probably not a simple curve in reality ) - but broadly speaking it's true. -

@EdBoatConnoisseur @sickburnbro there's an argument to be made that capitalism != free markets, and blah blah blah, milton friedman something something, mumble mumble
but really, modern wall street is not in any way capitalism, and any form of "capitalism" that does not benefit the people as a whole is just another form of theft, only at scale -

@sickburnbro @EdBoatConnoisseur i mean, what even is a billionaire?
you can't tax a guy that is worth a billion dollars if it's pretty much all in stock
the tax system is stuck in the early 20th century, but corporatism is now enjoying it's fourth century of evolution
niggas out here arguing which rock or stick is the best to use when you fight cyborgs -

@JoshuaSlocum @EdBoatConnoisseur remember, the democrats were thinking of actually taxing unrealized gains from stock going into 2024.
