Well, we have a new car. I’m pretty happy with it, though my wife is upset it isn’t a manual.

This one is a lease for 3 years. We hope that will give our building enough time to get some charging infrastructure so we can get another electric. As little as we drive the lease makes sense anyway so it’s a win all around.

@Callalily Thanks. It’s a Kia Niro. Should be about perfect for us.

@grumpasaurus Our Fiat 500L was a stick too. This is actually the first automatic she’s ever had and my first since 1997. I love stick but now that we’re back in Chicago with city traffic I’m fine with automatic too.

@Callalily Nice! I had an electric once and a diesel before that so it’s my first hybrid. Will be nice with city gas prices over $4

That's awesome. If i get another vehicle, i would like a hybrid next. My son has one & loves it. I think he has a toyota or Honda.

I don't want an electric too expensive. But I would like to get a hybrid one day.

@Callalily I get it. The Leaf is, which we had, was about the same price as most cheaper hybrids today but had horrible range. It was a great second car, but couldn’t have been our only car.

@chris We have run the gamut. Had several sticks, then went for sub-compact automatics. Got a 2023 Hyundai Kona electric this year. Just put in a level 2 charger at the house and now we can be full in a short time so no range anxiety at all. It helps having a stand-alone house.

@harold Oh nice! We live in a big building so we can’t charge at home yet. They’re talking about changing that so we leased this one. I had a Nissan leaf back in 2013. Would love another electric.

@chris Our small town of 6,000 has four level 3 chargers, so it could be feasible to have an EV here even in an apartment building

@harold Nice! Ours is a bit more complicated. The public spots around here are always packed so charging at home is important but it's a condo and our parking spaces are deeded (it even gets its own property tax bill) so trying to get electric chargers is not a simple thing. Really hoping they figure it out though.
