     I'm thinking it's more than that
     He loved guns so much he wanted children to watch gun deaths so they'd be used to the outcome
     He wanted children to die so guns could go on*
     He may have felt elation and joy that they got to kill him
     Poetry
     Poetry killed him

     *and like all poetry there's a dark version where gun lovers will be shooting anyone that might have shared empathy (his most hated word apparently) with anti gun people

     Ok, you can be of the opinion that freedom of guns did not impact Kirk's freedom of speech and he will continue speaking his mind.

     My point is that the shooters freedom of guns ended Kirks freedom of speech.

     It ended his freedom of everything.

     The point is that, the argument that guns 'protect" rights is incorrect.

     Guns destroy rights.

     Including freedom of speech.

     @selzero @LanceJZ “Freedom of Speech only concerns the government” is a very limited interpretation. Yes, true, but you’ll find the phrase used in many other ways, like here. Also, this (the Fediverse) is an international stage. I certainly don’t want to limit myself to reading “…as conveyed in the constitution of the USA” every time I see the phrase “freedom of speech”.

     Also, yes Freedom of Speech is only an issue if the government is involved. That is how things work.
