When 250,000 Americans have died from fentanyl alone, it makes you wonder: do you only see a tragedy if it is put in front of your face, or is this ok because "they chose to do it", because technically all those soldiers in WW2 chose to die as well - they could have resisted and gone to jail.

@WandererUber look, you love south american drug dealers, it's ok. I don't.

@sickburnbro Not to rehash our discussion but what does fent have to do with this? These guys were allegedly smuggling cocaine...

@WandererUber No, I'm not hallucinating at all, are you sure you aren't?
I've said very simply what I think, which is that "if people are crossing international boundaries to commit crimes, I don't care if you use military resources on them"
There are no "rules" that we have to wait until they step on to us soil in order to deal with them.
I'm well aware of the games the CIA has been playing in central america for over 70 years now. It's a problem, and we obviously need to stop trying to insert ourselves in third world politics.

@sickburnbro Fuck you too then. Apparently not possible to discuss anything with you. Didn't know one could be this mad that he starts to hallucinate, but here we are. All that over criticizing the CIA in another thread.

@WandererUber I'm well aware of governments lying to you. I just don't think you are very good at parsing govenments lying.
A lot of people around here see a third world country say something anti-semitic and all of a sudden they can do no wrong.
Venezuela can hate the jews for good reasons, bad reasons, who knows - but they can also at the same time be turning a blind eye to a cartel that is causing a lot of problems in the US.
I care about our people, and TdA is unequivocally hurting them.

@sickburnbro >you love south american drug dealers
This was the hallucination in question.
Nobody on here is saying the things you think they are.
This is another one:
>There are no "rules" that we have to wait until they step on to us soil in order to deal with them.
I'm the last person to advocate following rules when dealing with brown people. I do not care about not using the military either. Never did.
You didn't seem to understand that we were not liberals yesterday and you do not understand now.
>we obviously need to stop trying to insert ourselves in third world politics.
That's literally all I said. I don't believe them when they say it's about stopping drugs. Is the concept of the government lying to you for their agenda (inserting themselves into third world politics by overthrowing Venezuela) really that foreign to you?
-

@WandererUber I think it probably cheapest if the Venezuelan government stops it on their side, don't you?

@sickburnbro >A lot of people around here see a third world country say something anti-semitic and all of a sudden they can do no wrong.
I don't
>Venezuela can hate the jews for good reasons, bad reasons, who knows
This has barely anything to do with it. The pressure on Venezuela came BEFORE the Zionists' latest escapades.
>TdA is unequivocally hurting them.
Deportations instead of starting a war with the Venezuelan government. Which again, will not even fix the problem. Like the last 100 times this was tried. Third world countries will always be dysfunctional shitholes. Deport the Third Worlders and kill them if they try to enter. It's that simple. And it's cheaper than this shit.

@sickburnbro Yeah like when Iraq and Afghanistan stopped the terrorism after we replaced the governments. And how Iran will, too.

@WandererUber I've not say anything at all about "replacing" ( scare quotes intended ) the government of Venezuela. I don't have any love for Maduro, he's probably not a great guy, but as mentioned, the track record for doing a DEMOCRACY has been basically 0%.
I think he probably doesn't love the US either, and maybe he has good reasons. I could also believe he supports TdA as a method of fucking with us. I'm not ok with that.
-

@WandererUber I think you and the others are completely wrong about them trying to take our Maduro. There is probably a 2% chance of that.
Also, China has been moving fent through other countries - they aren't that dumb, just like with transshipping.

@sickburnbro >I don't have any love for Maduro, he's probably not a great guy
Once again, no one said that.
Now we got that out of the way we could finally talk about what me and some others have been saying in the other thread. But like I said in my first reply, I really didn't even want to rehash it since I believe I made myself quite clear: Unless they start killing Mexican and Colombian drug dealers too, I don't believe this is a poor use of resources to fight the drug problem. I believe they are trying to take out Maduro (see the history) and are just using a new excuse for doing it. Possibly related to Sheinbaum being Jewish and therefore off-limits, even though she very obviously "supports" the cartels, like you say Maduro does.
>I've not say anything at all about "replacing" ( scare quotes intended ) the government of Venezuela.
Well, I believe "they" (scare quotes intended) are. And I gave my reasons, my evidence, and what would change my mind. I am NOT a liberal and I do NOT want them to stop killing brown people. I want them to do it if they don't leave the country and not start a war with fucking Venezuela.
NB: My initial question in this thread: What does fent have to do with it?
still stands. Fent, or so I was told, was from China. Opiates, more generally, are pushed by the Sacklers.

@sickburnbro >I think you and the others are completely wrong about them trying to take our Maduro.
Which is fair enough. Again, I brought my arguments and the evidence and I don't expect you to agree with me on everything.
Don't fucking talk to me like I am a liberal though. Uncalled for.
We'll see in a few months who was right.
When we talked about how many illegals are in the US, I couldn't understand what you were saying too, but BroDrillard has since posted some receipts how it might be close to 100 million. It's not like I am uninterested in the other side. You're just needlessly obtuse and smug.

@JustJohnny @WandererUber I really have 0% interest in waiting any money to eradicate third worlders. I simply want to disentangle ourselves, and recognize that this administration is trying to fight both the local traitors and foreign enemies at the same time.
-

@sickburnbro Yeah maybe don't make me do it over and over then by making up things that others do not believe.
Maybe you should have a lower opinion of your "explanations" if all you get is people asking how in the world you can believe the things you do. Just a thought.
Going back to the 100M example: It was very enlightening what BroDrillard posted, you should try that some time.

@WandererUber I'm not making you re-explain anything dude. You're doing it yourself. If I were to only get people "asking me how in the world I can believe the things I do", that would be a concern, but isn't the case.

@WandererUber Should it be surprising that the things I choose to comment on would be ones I am fairly convinced on?
-

@sickburnbro You're definitely very convinced you're right. Even if it concerns what you believe others think. As evidenced by both threads.
Maybe you could spend some time convincing others you're right, instead of just yourself. I'm sure this time the US government isn't lying when they make atrocity propaganda about a foreign leader they hated forever though.
Once again, we'll see what their plan was in a few months.
You think they're going to take out TdA? Will they stop at that or do they go after more cartels? Will it help the drug problem?

This was clearly just a dig at you for being very full of yourself with your answers.

@WandererUber As to "spending time trying to convince others" - do you think a conversation like this makes me think that would be a fruitful endeavor?
-
Embed this notice
@WandererUber i.e - if you wish to have conversations like that, then the best way to do that is to produce an environment that allows for that.
just my two cents on that, though.
-

@WandererUber are you *sure* that's how it started? Do you somehow think I was making this thread about you?
For the record, what I was doing was pointing out that a huge amount of americans have died because of illegal drugs - and to downplay this signifies something.
I don't know if you know any people that have been unable to make it in this country and fallen into a pit of despair, but getting people out isn't easy.
-
Embed this notice
@sickburnbro Yeah sure point for you but remind yourself how this started. You pretended I like brown drug dealers instead of taking the time to understand my reasoning.
I said as much in my first reply. If you're always being smug there is no point in asking you any questions or discussing things with you because it will take 1 hour to get you to even read what I wrote and then you act like that's my fault.
You'll just have yes men in your replies and if that's what you're going for, enjoy. Very drudge-esque

@sickburnbro >He still thinks my point was "downplaying" the drug problem
For the last time, I am not a liberal. I'm not explaining it again.
-

@WandererUber I'm not saying you are - I was specifically pointing out MatyrMade and doing it because I've seen a lot of people claiming essentially that the administration doesn't actually care about the drug problem and it's all a front for other machinations.
https://nitter.poast.org/memeticsisyphus/status/196357... I think is a good summary - if you do indeed care about the drug problem.

@WandererUber @sickburnbro
The global geopolitical paradigm we are currently in, is if you are part of Russia's or China's supply chain, then you are likely to be targeted. Cartels are like terrorists, or rebels. Western created, and often used as justification for action against a target. Sometimes promoted into a more westernly friendly government.

@hazlin @WandererUber @sickburnbro >Cartels are like terrorists, or rebels. Western created, and often used as justification for action against a target.
Yes. I don't think there's disagreement on this point, although the degree of influence the West has (or had) on the formation and present action of these groups might be debated. Personally I think anything that stops drugs from flowing into the USA is good although I recognize the perverse incentive regardless
-
Embed this notice
@BowsacNoodle @hazlin @WandererUber Additionally, the "western created" is often used to set blame, where the truth is almost always more complicated in that there are multiple sides and they would find the side which was more "compliant" ( usually weaker ) and would juice them up.
-

@sickburnbro @hazlin @WandererUber Yeah culpability is still there even if it shifts to crime of opportunity based upon glowie actions.
