Like, I cannot stress this enough - we should just GIVE seniors enough money to live. Period. Straight up just GIVE it to them - if you've made say 60 years on this earth, here's your check, don't spend it all on bingo. The fact that your ability to retire is tied into whether or not some nazi tech bros useless company turns a profit is not a good idea, and having the system function this way is PURELY intentional.

I'd rather just give poor people money and let the Street burn to the ground.

@Dss I literally do not care if some very small number of affluent people get seniors benefits. It's utterly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things and universality protects public benefits because once you introduce means testing into the equation it is demonstrably simple to restrict those benefits out of existence for people who need it.

So all in all, I would describe your point as "off topic."

@AnarchoNinaWrites please, please don't mistake all pensioners for poor people! In the UK, there's hundreds of thousands are "investment experts" in their own heads because they bought two houses 55 to 35 years ago, and are now loaded.
Worse, they seem to think that eating £15 less food a week will turn into a £50k+ 10% house deposit in 2 years, "cause that's how they did it"!

@botvolution @AnarchoNinaWrites You can read my rebuttal below. Giving lots of extra money to the statistically richest demographic is a terrible idea. The literal opposite of "fair".
