     I remember someone saying that if the 1982 Tylenol Murders happened today, there would be a ridiculous chain of custody system, they'd all be under constant 24hr surveillance, and we'd be told to go fuck ourselves if we mentioned how wasteful all that was.
     
     We don't do solutions like "cover it up with an obvious seal anymore. That doesn't make enough make work jobs.

     Oh they 100% could fix the problem of kids on the internet in 100s of better ways, but that assumes that the problem is what they're trying to fix. It wouldn't give the lizard people an excuse to erode your freedoms and dominate your life even more, right? How else are they going to ban VPNs from the global market?

     Tamper-evident seals pretty much solved the vulnerability exploited by the Tylenol poisoner. Japan had a similar serial poisoner streak with vending machine drinks who was never caught.

     I think every device from phone, tablet to computer all have parental controls. Parents too lazy just to set them up.
     Phones and tablets are nothing but babysitters anymore, so you don't actually have to talk to your child while shopping.
