   You are moving some things around in your house, you find a small door that is screwed shut. You unscrew it, and there is a small winding staircase that goes up, but you can't see where. It doesn't go to your attic, as far as you can tell. Do you go up the stairs or do you screw that door back closed?

     @RickiTarr I'm usually the one who would run towards the portal as fast as my bum knee can carry me, lol, but somehow I got a bad feeling about this one. I pictured myself gazing into the darkness of a hidden staircase and said nope.

     I have a door just like this, but the stairs descend. I live on a boat.

     There’s no way I don’t go up them stairs. Unless the ‘small’ is too small for my fits.

     I *might* text someone with a “hey, guess what I found” before heading up, if I thought of it first.

     I call to my wife, when she answers I tell her I found a staircase but I don't care where it goes, so I'm gonna board it up . . . let nature take its course . . .

     @RickiTarr I'm in a terraced house, so if the stairs don't go to my attic then they must go to the neighbour's attic. I'll go around and ask them if they're aware of this.

     @billyjoebowers @RickiTarr I think the curiosity would drive me wild. I would have to open it up. I mean why would they seal a whole room?

     I'm sure it's some perfectly boring reason. I don't know, mold infestation or something? But to completely seal it up still just seems too extreme for anything that doesn't belong in a horror movie or murder mystery, lol.

     Going up, might grab a couple of things first.

     I knew someone that that had a house with a sealed off room, you could see it from the outside. They lived there for years and never explored it. They also had a big square in the basement concrete that was newer than the rest.
