   I hate that hypothetical future in which people are trained to tolerate their master's forcing them into slaughterhouse lines, and even to complain that the line is moving too slow

     you think? it's already hurting me, as described in my initial response. sure, not like a slaughterhouse might, but the point of the slaughterhouse line is not so much the final destination, but the very real and palpable issue of being pushed to go to a place that's no good for you. don't get distracted from what really matters disputing a detail of no relevance.

     How is Wayland a "slaughterhouse line"? It's just a windowing system, it can't hurt you.
