Again, I can't stress this enough - the fundamental flaw in your assumptions appears to be "the Democratic Party is trying to win elections as its #1 priority"

It is not. Whatever you do next, whatever your plan of attack is for seizing control of the party, it MUST be based on the REAL situation on the ground, or your plans and assumptions will NOT survive contact with reality

The Democratic Party leadership as presently constructed, is prepared to lose, to stop the left. Period. Math that in

@AnarchoNinaWrites it's really a thing that their goal is to stop the left , and then blame the left for the loss

@AnarchoNinaWrites They'd rather lose the election than the donations. Whatever else is going on, that's enough.

@gooba42 @AnarchoNinaWrites Yes. I would say the real goal is not "stop the left" but "rake in donations".

It happens that the biggest donors deem "preserve our domination of the economic system" the top priority and condition for donation, but the "goal" of Dem party leadership is financial and self-serving, not ideological.

@dalias @gooba42 In this context, it's a difference without a distinction - the donors want them to stop the left.

@AnarchoNinaWrites @gooba42 I think it makes a difference on who you target and how in your actions.

It also makes a messaging difference to how you can reach normies. "Dems want to stop the left" comes across very different to them (I would say more divisive, less likely to engage them to our side) than "Dems are under the thumb of billionaire donors".

@AnarchoNinaWrites @gooba42 I think there's a contrary-to-reality perception among the leadership, even when it costs them money, that this somehow isn't the case and that the opposite would actually cost them money.

It's what happens when you've been listening to awful people and interacting in their circles too long.

You see this kind of brainrotting phenomenon on LinkedIn. You see it in the TERF Island celebrity class.

This doesn't make it less bad or less of something we need to fight. But it might inform how you wake normies up to it.

@gooba42 @dalias I just think it's not factually true that it's just the donors; the Democratic Party leadership is objectively against the left, even when it COSTS them money.

So I think we're having a different convo now. Or at least have reached an impasse.

      @dalias @gooba42 *shrugs*

I do not think it makes a difference because you can't stop reality, from being real. Good day.

Like what is the "financial motivation" for turning on trans kids? It's not. It's that billionaires hate trans people, and "woke stuff" so... I'm sorry but I don't agree.

@AnarchoNinaWrites @dalias I think if we're *arguing* with them, knowing their motivations and intentions is a path to victory.

If we're *fighting* with them, their actions and the negative consequences are all that matter.

We're past the point of asking them to stop, making them stop is the priority now.
