Wild to me that sugary soda is is still a thing, much less the norm. "Yes I'd like 250 calories of sugar in a beverage" like holy shit that's deranged. - ✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: and soberano like this.

@Vo sure that's turbo-indulgent but like, that's a shake, to me that's distinct from a beverage that you would have with a meal. -

@prettygood yeah and at least it's partially from lactose and has _some_ level of real nutrition from the dairy. Really people just look at soda the wrong way and should see it more like a rare indulgence.

@Vo or like, zero calorie sodas are widely available now. Coke Zero and Sprite Zero are both perfectly good. (In b4 aspartame posters) -

@prettygood @Vo ignoring the mountains of scientific evidence that artificial sweeteners are really bad for you, drinking a 2 liter of acid is also really bad for you ✙ dcc :pedomustdie: :phear_slackware: and prettygood like this. -

@sapphire @Vo just saying 250 calories of corn syrup is also really bad for you too. -

@prettygood @Vo both things can be true but I’d argue at least the 250 calories of corn syrup are measurably bad instead of “surprise, you still have diabetes and no teeth” prettygood likes this. -

@sapphire @Vo well I've drank a can or two per day of zero calorie soda for like 40 years and I don't have beetus or dental issues so, anecdote.gif -

@prettygood @Vo I would pick up a 2 liter of mtn dew before AND after school for the last 3 years and all 3 semesters of my college experience and I never gained weight so soda doesn’t cause weight gain :^) -

@prettygood @Vo oxygen causes cancer, anything you do is contributing to the deterioration of your body and your inevitable death. Just enjoy life, play to your own risk factors and remember 80 miserable years are far more miserable than 60 fun ones prettygood likes this. -

@sapphire @Vo I'm sticking with it, but we'll never know, the liquor will kill me first anyway. But I like them better so in the vein of "enjoy life" it still works. -

@Vo @sapphire ironically salt is something I hardly ever indulge in because everything I don't cook is salty already and everything I do cook doesn't need it -
